Why am I doing the World Race?…

To be completely honest, this is a hard question to answer. After so much prayer, fasting, and seeking the Lord you would think that my motives are clear. Yet, I feel like my thoughts are scrambled right now… out of excitement and maybe ambiguity? I could write this post and act like I have everything together…OR I could be completely honest with you. I desire for these blogs to be an open space. A space that I share where I’m REALLY at, not where I want to be. Therefore, the answer to this question is still in the making.

I have been asking God this for a while now. “God, what are my intentions behind this? Is it truly to glorify you, or something less? This is my heart’s true desire, and if that’s not my motivation, make it utterly clear. Align my will with yours.”. So far He has revealed the overall answer to me, but the intricacies are to be continued. The overall, and most important, answer is Jesus.

For Colossians 1 states,”For in him (Jesus) all things were created…all things have been created through him and for him. Once you were alienated from God… now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.”.

Jesus has been the answer to infinity past, present, and future. Jesus is the answer that is everlasting and eternal. The reason why I have breath in my lungs, the reason why I’m not only free from sin, but seated at the right hand of the Father, is Jesus. The revelation I have is this, the farther I stray away from the answer of Jesus, the more distorted the truth becomes. I can see Jesus as this concrete center, firmly grounded in its place. From this center dozens of sideroads stem off, and the farther you wander, the darker its surroundings. I have found myself wandering down these sideroads, unsure of how my journey began. My vision is covered with fog. These roads are all too traveled by children with pure hearts, and if we were to just to stay in the center, the fog would clear. THIS is why the Bible says “in Christ all wisdom and knowledge lie”. Through all the mystery, the questioning, the ambiguity of this world I know Jesus to be true.

Jesus came to speak to us, then and for all eternity. When I don’t know where he’s leading, I focus on his words. Here are the commands I hold dear… Jesus commands us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation(Matthew 16:15).”. Jesus advises us, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the Harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.(Luke 10:2)”. Because I desire to be a humble servant for the Most High, I will strive to glorify Him with all my being. I desire to pursue Him with all my heart, soul, and strength, and I believe that the World Race gives me this opportunity.

Through the World Race I will have an opportunity to partner with God in His pursuit of all. I will have the honor of witnessing His love for the peoples of all nations, every tribe and tongue. On this journey He will stretch me, teach me, refine me, and equip me. I may not have all my answers in place, but I am beyond grateful I don’t have to. The World Race is my leap of faith, my going deeper, my action step in obeying His word. I believe that as I follow Him, one step at a time, He will reveal Himself to me. Therefore I will rest in the mystery, in the unknown, knowing that Scripture says, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” (Romans 10:14-15).

What a blessing it is that the body of Christ is alive and active. As a part of the body, I am thankful that I never have to travel these roads without support. If you would like to partner with what God is doing in my life and on the World Race, there are ways for you to do so. Currently, I am in need of financial support, and by scrolling up to hit the “donate” button you can help.
